Hi, I’m A.J.
I’m a New York City based UX designer and problem solver interested in how people connect and interact.
Problem solver trying to improve how people connect and interact.
Before I studied at the Flatiron School, I went to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where I studied fine art.
My background in fine arts and ability to think visually bridges the gap from concept to wireframe and allows me to communicate big user experience ideas through clean visual interface.
At Audible, I became known as the go-to person for storyboarding guidance, presentation illustrations, and I was specifically assigned many ideation heavy projects early in their conception that would be well served with storyboards.
I also spent years working in restaurants and teaching metal-smithing and sculpture. My experience in the service industry and in teaching gave me a lot of tools I’ve used since in my design work-- namely empathy for users, patience, and how to manage multiple perspectives.
Also, I'm a fantastic playlist-maker and all Site Doodles are my own.
